What is the utility of intravenous magnesium sulfate in improving clinical symptoms or reducing admission in pediatric patients suffering from acute asthma?

Erythropoeitin does not reduce red cell transfusion requirement in critically ill children with bronchiolitis and resp. failure.

Clinical Question:

A 3 month old infant is admitted for bronchiolitis with respiratory failure. Like many children critically ill with bronchiolitis, the child developed anemia on the third day of admission. Does erythropoeitin reduce the need for red cell transfusion?
